A school that feels like family
Located in Rodeo, near the Hercules border, A Little World Montessori has been nurturing young minds for over 25 years. Our Montessori program provides a safe, joyful, and hands-on learning environment. Where children grow with confidence, independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. All surrounded by beautiful gardens, nature, animal care, and caring educators.
- Our classrooms are filled with age-appropriate Montessori materials.
- Mixed-age communities where older children mentor and younger ones stretch upward.
- A nature-rich center with a garden, play yard, and one very patient red-footed tortoise.
- Hours built for working families — 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with before & after care.
Individually crafted programs, for infants to 7 years
No two children are alike — so no two programs here are, either. From infancy to age 7, every child receives one-on-one, age-appropriate lessons and an individually crafted program that grows with them until they walk out our gate ready for kindergarten or first grade.
- One-on-one lessons — age-appropriate presentations, given individually when your child is ready.
- Group activities & lessons — circle time, music, movement, and shared projects that build friendship, social skills, and community.
- The full Montessori curriculum — unlocked at each child’s own pace, never on a timetable.
- Full-time and part-time schedules — with before & after care built into our 7:00–6:00 day.
Little school. Big difference.

A garden the children tend, a play yard with slides, field trips to Tilden Park — and yes, a resident Tortoise and Hare.
Tuition Assistance
Every family's situation is different. Tuition is personalized after your tour, and assistance is available — just ask.
Military & Frontline Workers
We're proud to offer a discount to military families and frontline workers — a small thank-you for their service.
Before & After Care
Extended care from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM means school fits your workday — without a scramble at pickup time.
Children don't just play here. They work — joyfully.
Walk into our classrooms and you'll see the pink tower being carried, cylinders being sorted, and number rods stretching across mats. Every material isolates one concept and invites a child to master it with their own hands. That quiet concentration you'll notice? Montessorians call it the work of childhood.
"Help me to do it myself."
What our families say
Every family starts with a conversation with Samudra
Samudra De Alwis leads A Little World the way she always has — personally. When you reach out, it's Samudra who calls you back. She'll ask about your child, your hopes, and your schedule, then walk you through our little world herself.
Because choosing a school isn't a transaction. It's the beginning of a relationship.
